Cambridge ICT Starters for Primary & Secondary Programmes at Millennium Schools


Information and Communications Technology (ICT) is now part of the educational experience worldwide. It is regarded as a new ‘literacy’, alongside reading, writing and numeracy. Cambridge ICT Starters at Millennium Schools introduces learners, within Cambridge Primary and Cambridge Secondary 1 stages, to the key ICT applications they need to acquire that literacy and to understand the impact of technology on our daily lives.


Cambridge Primary Checkpoint at Millennium Schools


 

  • It is a test for Millennium learners at the end of the final year of Cambridge Primary and is available in English, Mathematics and Science; English as a second language tests are available from Cambridge English Language Assessment.
  • Millennium Schools tests skills, knowledge and understanding at the end of stages 4-6 of the curriculum for English and Mathematics, and stages 3-6 of the curriculum for science.
  • Tests are marked in Cambridge to provide an international benchmark of learner performance.
  • Millennium Learners receive a statement of achievement and a diagnostic feedback report.
  • Feedback reports show how a Millennium learner has performed in relation to the curriculum, their learning group, the whole school, and against all learners who have taken tests in that series around the world.
  • Helps Millennium teachers to monitor group and individual performance, and manage learning programmes.

Cambridge Secondary Checkpoint at Millennium Schools


 

  • It is a test to assess Millennium learners at the end of Cambridge Secondary 1 and provide evidence of readiness for the next stage.
  • It is available for English, Mathematics and Science. English as a second language tests are available from Cambridge English Language Assessment.
  • Test skills, knowledge and understanding for stages 7-9 of the curriculum for English, Mathematics & Science.
  • Feedback reports show the performance of a Millennium learner in relation to the curriculum, their learning group, the whole school and against all learners who have taken tests in that series around the world.
  • Tests are marked in Cambridge to provide an international benchmark of learner performance.
  • Millennium learners receive a statement of achievement and a diagnostic feedback report.

Cambridge ICT Starters at Millennium Schools is assessed in the classroom through a structured scheme of assessment, operating at three levels:

  • Initial steps
  • Next steps
  • On track

Each level is made up of two stages and certificates are available on successful completion of each stage. Each module of the syllabus contains the Assessment Criteria, which must be met to achieve a Pass or Merit, and an Example Assessment Activity.

Cambridge Primary & Secondary at Millennium Schools helps identify a learner’s strengths and weaknesses and is used to support learning and development. It prepares learners for a smooth transition to Cambridge Secondary 1 and beyond.


External benchmark


Millennium Cambridge Primary & Secondary assessments, including Cambridge Primary and Secondary Checkpoint, provide our teachers with an international benchmark to inform their teaching and easily measure learners’ progress over time. They also enable detailed, structured reporting to parents.
